Ep 042: No More Mind

On this episode of The Web of Queer, we review the 9th episode of series 9, Sleep No More, and the Sixth Doctor classic story, Mindwarp.

For our Sleep No More review, we discussed the diverse cast of characters on the show, including 474, the character played by Bethany Black. What did we think of her role, and how the other characters in the story treated her? Did we like the idea of the Morpheus pods and how did we think the narrative held up as a whole?

For our Classic review, we continue the Trial of a Timelord series with Mindwarp. Court scenes, a Brian Blessed debut, and corporate slug overlords fill out the story, but how full was it? Did we believe the Doctor was really affected by the machine? And what do we think of Peri’s storyline?

Ep 040: Hybridized Allegories and Schrodinger's Osgood

On this week's episode of The Web of Queer, we review the seventh story in this series, The Zygon Invasion. Doctor Who doesn’t shy away from the political, but how well did we think they managed to tackle something so current? What do we think of UNIT’s reactions throughout the story, what did we think of Osgood's choices about her identity, and where do we think the story might be going?

Ep 039: Nightmares and Daemons

On this week's episode of The Web of Queer, we review the 6th story in the new series, The Woman Who Lived, and the Third Doctor story The Daemons.

For The Woman Who Lived, we discuss the change in Me’s character, and how she got to where she is now. What similarities and differences do we see between her and the Doctor, and how would a young-appearing woman have to navigate within these time periods?

In our The Daemons review, we discuss the Third Doctor's way of interacting with those around him. Does his arrogance get in the way? How does the UNIT team work in this story, even with the Brig’s helicopter in danger? And how does the inclusion of things like witchcraft and Morris Dancing feel in the story?

Time Stamps:
00:00 Intro
00:56 The Woman Who Lived review
31:54 The Daemons review
